Mother's Day 2021

It's almost Mother's Day! Sunday 14th March is the day we celebrate some of the most important women in our lives. Whether that's mums, step-mums, grandmas or another special mother-figure in our lives!

This year it may be more important than ever to celebrate our special ladies, whether your mum is a key-worker helping to keep the country going, your wife who is home-schooling alongside her job or you're missing your mum due to lockdown, we've compiled a list of ideas to let her know you're grateful to have her in your life.

1. Hurt Arms Takeaway

Of course, we have to kick off the list with some shameless self-promotion of our offerings! Mother's Day is usually one of our busiest times of year. It also marks a whole year since we first closed due to COVID-19. Although we were hoping we would be back to normal by this year, we won't let that stop us delivering (literally!) a lovely occasion to our customers. We'll be offering a delicious 3 course Mother's Day Roast collection/delivery service.

The menu features some classic Sunday roasts and tasty alternatives if you're wanting to branch out, all items can be made kid's size! You could send it to your mum if you can't spend lockdown together or treat your partner and kids to mark the special occasion. See more information here. There's no better way to say 'I love you' than with great food and drinks. You could even add a cocktail or two!

2. Memory Book

Lockdown may have been hard for us all but it did mean many of us who are lucky enough to live with our mums got to spend more time with her than usual. Whether you set up a desk to work from home with mum or spend the summer in the garden whilst furloughed, creating a book of positive memories from this strange time would be a lovely sentimental gift for your mother figure.

If you've spent lockdown away from your mum, you could share some of your best memories before you were kept apart and ideas for things you'll do together when you can. You could also include some lovely pieces from her grandchildren if she's been missing them through lockdown too.

3. Plan a Trip for the Future

Hopefully the days of furlough, lockdown and nights in will soon be behind us! Booking something to look forward to is a great way to help your mother figure get through these last few months of restrictions.

Our Relaxation Retreat is designed with mothers in mind. The gift voucher is beautifully presented and can be used as soon as we reopen! It includes a relaxing stay at the Hurt Arms, a 3 course meal in our restaurant, a bottle of wine, chocolates and breakfast the following morning. We can post this out to you to hand deliver or we can send directly to your mum. Spending quality time together can't be beaten!

4. Pamper Box

Self-care days are so important in these times! Creating a bundle of all your mums favourite products is a great way to remind her to take some time out for herself.

Candles, face masks, tasty treats, cosy clothing and bubble baths are all perfect treats to add to your package. You can make this a more budget friendly option or splash out and create an indulgent bundle. Wrapped beautifully this is sure to go down well!

5. Baked Goodies

Lockdown has had us all trying out new skills (the banana bread era of March 2020 seems likes years ago!). Homemade gifts are always a winner with mums! Try out a new recipe, decorate it with love and you've nailed it. (Or you could order a tasty Hurt Arms dessert and present it as your own!)
